Hygge - Guildford to Sevenoaks

Hygge is a Danish concept that originated in Norway where it originally meant 'well-being'.    It first appeared in Danish literature towards the end of the 18th Century and the Danes have embraced it ever since.

Hygge is about spending time with loved ones, walks by the sea, drinking cocoa, brewing a fresh coffee and slowly savouring the aromas - while eating a cinnamon bun - oh... and lighting a candle too!

And of course ... sitting by the fire.  What better way to embrace Autumn and this current trend than spending a cosy afternoon by the fire.  At silvanalogs2door we whole-heartedly embrace the concept of taking life slowly and enjoying simple pleasures.

True happiness is... to enjoy the present, without anxious dependence upon the future. Lucius Annaeus Seneca
